How do I take care of my hair extensions at home?
Wash your hair every 4-7 days to ensure deep conditioning for your hair extensions. Oil your hair from mid-shaft down 1-2 times daily with a salon grade oil. Brush your hair twice a day. Practice safe sleep hairstyles like a low pony or braids. Always use heat protection when blow drying and heat styling
What are the things to avoid with hair extension maintenance?
Never leave hair extensions wet at the roots, this could cause matting and in severe cases, mold. For k-tips, avoid any heat styling tools at the bonds (blowdryer on medium heat is fine). Excess pulling or rough brushing. Not coming in for routine maintenance in the salon, this is a must to keep your natural hair healthy!
Should I come in with dirty or clean hair ?
Clean hair is the best! Excess oils or products can affect hair color results.
What’s the difference between a permanent, Demi-permanent and semipermanent hair color?
Permanents utilize a lifting agent to take out your natural hair pigment and then deposit the artificial color we put in. Demi permanents only deposit color into the hair strand over your natural color with little to no lifting based on the color line. And semi-permanent pigments only sit on top of the hair strand.
Do you offer allergy free hair color?
Yes I do! O&M is one of the leading hair color companies that I offer and use primarily. It is eco-friendly, cruelty free, clean ingredients, and free of ammonia, resorcinol, and PPD. No ichy scalp!!
What should I do if an extension slips or comes out?
Always reach out to me! We will get that taken care of ASAP. If it is past three weeks that will fall under a maintenance appointment.
Can you color hair extensions?
Yes! All the hair I offer is 100% Slavic hair. I love to custom color and match to my clients hair! I will never bleach hair extensions , only go darker or enhance tones.
What is the recommended salon maintenance schedule for hair extensions?
Beaded wefts 6- 8 weeks for full removal. 4-5 weeks for mini Unseen beaded wefts 6-8 weeks full retie K-tips 3- 4 months
How long is the maintenance for color?
It depends on what your specific needs are . For grey coverage, I recommend every 4-6 weeks. Lived in dimensional custom color maintenance is every 3-6 months. Custom heavy blonding 8-10 weeks Glossing 6-12 weeks
Can I wash , dry, and style my hair extensions like my natural hair?
Yes! But with some precautions!
